As the second graphic designer hired on the team, my role consisted of aiding in-house design and client work that mainly consisted of branding, packaging, print, social media design and marketing material design. My responsibility within the role was to aid in design work, handle client communications in person and online, and operate commercial pre-press production machinery such as UV and inkjet printers.
Within the year, my role was promoted to Creative Project Manager in which my responsibilities increased with tasks such as communicating with outsource services and vendors, overseeing project progress and delegation, and leading a majority of design projects. The team I worked with was small and mighty and started with the Lead Production Manager/ Graphic Designer, Retail Manager/Delivery Driver, and the CEO. Later we grew to add more members to the team such as a Sales Representative and Social Media Manager.
As I grew within the company I was able to contribute ideas in order to streamline systems within the small team. Within the year I worked at BP Distro I was able to revamp the internal file system to improve production efficiency, enhance team communication, and create smoother hand-offs between departments. I also collaborated with the CEO to co-develop and launch 2 Standard Operating Procedures for client interactions, resulting in an improved internal process and higher customer satisfaction.
